You are 23 1/2 months old. You are getting so big, not babies anymore.
Parker - you are definitely exhibiting the terrible two's - throwing tantrums when you don't get what you want.
Jackson - you are jabbering all the time. Words will emerge any day.
I love you.

Pumpkin Patch Opportunity
I just found out that we will be having our company halloween party at the biggest pumpkin patch in town. However, I can't go. I'm so disappointed.
The office will close at 3:30, we will have our meeting from 4-5:30 and then dinner and fun around a campfire at the pumpkin patch. Kids and spouses can attend beginning at 5:30 for half price entrance.
Bummer is that we have tickets for the same night to see the local semi-professional football team play (its the 2nd to last game of the season in their first season playing). We already bought the tickets ($140) and plan on taking the older boys and my mom is staying overnight to babysit the twins.
DH thinks the little boys are too small to enjoy this pumpkin patch for the price (full price entrance $12.75 adults, kids 2 and under free). This would have been a great opportunity to get him and the boys out to a pumpkin patch. Instead, I am going to try to convince him to take the boys to a smaller pumpkin farm on Sunday. We'll see how it goes.

Ear Infections
It's been 18 days since the boys got their colds. They seemed to be getting better, but the last few days it seems their coughs were getting worse.
I read recently that if their colds aren't better after about a week or so, they should see a Dr. I convinced my husband we needed to take them in and guess what? They have ear infections. This is their first ear infection ever. So we have antibitics and childrens claritin.
This could explain why Parker's eating has been off lately and why he is unusually clingy. Hope they are better soon.

Clinginess
Parker was so clingy last night when I got home from work. He wanted held and put his head on my shoulder for most of the night. Both boys are getting over a cold (we all had it at the same time), so could be that, but he also has been having a little diahrea. DH thinks the boys are becomming lactose intollerant. I don't know why they would at this age. I'll monitor it and see what happens.
It's so funny to think back on all the different milestones they have gone through. They are getting so big.

Autumn Begins
Today is the first day of Autumn. The beginning of my favorite time of year. Holidays!!!! 100 days of holiday recipes begin today. The last couple of years, I have been really lax on my holiday baking. One of my dreams for the longest time has been to have the house totally decorated for every holiday, bake every weekend and have the kids playing doing their thing and just enjoy everything each holiday has to offer. Craft fairs, halloween, christmas.
The last few years, I haven't been doing much to fulfill this dream. In 2007, my oven went to kaput right before thanksgiving. In 2008, I was 6 months pregnant and in the hospital giving birth on December 22. In 2009 the boys were 9 months old and I was still recovering from post partum depression, not fully back to myself. I keep saying these first few years when the boys are little, I can sacrifice this desire for baking and such while they demand so much of my attention. But you know, as I write this, these all are just excuses. I just really need to find a balance for all of the things in my life.

First Day of Fall 2010
How time flies when you have twins. My goal was to keep this updated on a regular basis, how I failed. New goal, starting today I want to keep this up to date, so I have something to show the boys when they are older.
You boys are 21 months old tomorrow. You both are so smart and have reached most of your milestones, but not saying any real words yet. You jabber alot and point and talk, but no real words we can comprehend. I'm sure they will come soon. You love baths and playing outdoors.
Love you
Mom

Toddlers
It's been a while, so I thought I'd better post an update. The boys are 16 months old. Doing toddler things, climing on everything, walking 80% of the time and crawling the rest. I'm having a really difficult time transitioning from bottles to sippy cups. We are on 100% whole milk, but they just aren't interested in using a sippy cup. They will sip a little water, or chew on the nipple/spout, but won't drink a whole cup full of milk from the sippy.
Parker is on 100% solid food, and has been for a while, but Jackson is my lazy, picky eater. It's hit and miss. Alot of the time, he'll eat what we eat, but if he doesn't like it, he'll let it ooz out of his mouth. Or alot of the time, he'll take it out of his mouth with his fingers and if he decides he will try it, he will put it back in.
I can't get either of them to eat any canned/microwavable foods. I'm running out of ideas.
Anyhow here is a recent pic.
